Caithness Energy, L.L.C (“Caithness”) is a privately-held Independent Power Producer specializing in the development, acquisition, operation, and management of unique power generation assets in North America. Caithness is focused on providing environmentally progressive large-scale projects, including wind, solar, geothermal and natural gas.
Caithness was the first to be involved in all aspects of utility scale renewable energy by developing, owning, managing, and operating the largest geothermal, solar, and wind projects in the United States. The members of Caithness’ senior management average 30 years of industry experience, with an average of 13 years of collective team experience. As a vertically integrated operator, Caithness has fully dedicated in-house investment, development, project management/construction, and asset/commodity management teams providing superior cost containment, as well as operational excellence for both development and acquisition assets.
Caithness, with its roots in renewable power generation, expanded its renewable portfolio while diversifying into environmentally friendly fossil-fuel generation. The result was an extensive portfolio consisting of 1,052 megawatts (MW) of some of the premier renewable and fossil-fueled energy projects in the United States, with Caithness owning and operating major geothermal projects throughout the western U.S., as well as having interests in wind and solar energy projects.
